I saw Michelle Kaufmann's beautiful green homes featured on design sponge a while ago, and I think her "modern farmhouse" is my favorite. I love all the eco-friendly design elements, as well as the intentional community concept she's working at - changing the suburban/urban model to something that really brings the people who live in a neighborhood together more as a community. Plus some of her homes remind me of the wonderful Marcel Breuer building at my alma mater.
I still think I'd prefer to find an old house with stories hidden in its solid walls when I'm ready to buy someday, but I'm happy there are architects out there setting such high green standards for what new construction can be.
